A must watch for high school students who are planning to take college entrance examination. =)

Synopsis

Sakuragi Kenji is a destitute lawyer and one-time member of a motorcyle gang trying to guide failing high school students with an average score of 36 into Japan's most prestigious educational institution, Tokyo University (Toudai).

"If you want to change your life, get into Toudai!"

For no other reason than Sakuragi's personal ambition, he has advertised his intention to produce 5 successful Toudai applicants from the students of a nearly bankrupt failure of a school.

"If you want to change your life, get into Toudai!" He will get them from this lowest of all schools into Japan's number one!!

Our protagonist, Sakuragi Kenji, played by Abe Hiroshi in his first role as a high school teacher, is a must see in this summer's new show. This third rate lawyer soon becomes the homeroom teacher for the special advanced class aiming for Toudai University entrance. Hasegawa Kyouko costars as english teacher and Sakuragi's opponent, and Yamashita Tomohisa from NEWS and Nagasawa Masami also appear in the role of students. This awaited original work and fascinating world view is brought to you from the popular serialized comic in Shuukan Morning (Kodansha) and has even been updated!

In addition to revealing essential test taking techniques for everyone who wants to know how to get into Toudai, Dragon Zakura will also teach the essentials of living one's life. (credits: DramaWiki)

My Review

Here, here. Who knew that college entrance examination was a big deal in Japan, no suffice it to say that getting into Todai is more of the deal.

Watching Dragon Zakura has brought back some memories of mine, back when I was preparing to undergo the entrance exam in UP, the only difference is unlike them, I haven't given much thought on it. You may think that I'm bragging but I'm not. What I mean is that the members of the special class have their purpose on why they want to go to the best university, but me, I took the exam just because I'm expected to. Okay enough of my personal life.

Just like what I said on the opening sentence, watching this gives a person a lot of inspiration to strive and study harder. What's even astounding is that the students who are involved are what we call the trash of the society and yet they've proven that intelligence can be attained by those who worked hard for it. I was really touched by the efforts of those students, seldom it is that I've been this hopeful. Though the story only focuses on preparing the special class to pass the exam in Tokyo University, I wasn't bored, all throughout the episodes, one can get a lot of tips on how to ace a test and also provide the necessary motivation needed whenever one feels like giving up.

We can learn a lot from Dragon Zakura, it doesn't only apply on incoming college students but to everyone as well. What's also good is that though we think that the story would end in the perfect way, it doesn't. Let's probably call it the more realistic way to end things, not all of them achieved what they're aiming for but still they decided to take another path. And being accepted into the best university isn't always the right thing, there are a lot of alternatives out there, you can still succeed if you have the determination.

I was so inspired by this, good thing because with school almost starting and all I was into a dark mood, but thanks to this series, I have found a new light, I would study hard just like those guys. :D

Note:

Hey, have you noticed I haven't even mentioned Yamapi (wow it's a record), hehe, now I've mentioned it. Haha, and Koike's (he's the kind that looks uber cute) here too, waaa those two are really cute, weeeee. Now I know why they've chosen Masami to be Pi's partner in Pro Dai, and also Yui in Code Blue, it all started here. =))

The best thing about Dragon Zakura is the fact that they mentioned the Philippines, wahaha, for a period of time our country was on the spotlight (can it really be called that?). lol

Kim Sun Ah and Gong Yoo = <3. But I prefer Hyun Bin (hahaha).

Synopsis

Stephen Chow's Fight Back to School, re-set it in an all-girl's school in Korea, and add a sexy female protagonist, and you'll have some idea of what writer/director Park Kwang-choon (Madeleine)has in store for you in his entertaining action comedy, She's On Duty! Kim Seon-ah (S Diary, Wet Dreams) plays a female detective who has to go deep undercover as a high schooler in order to thwart a plot by the Japanese Yakuza to traffic teenage girls as sex slaves! Not content to save just the girls from a life of prostitution, Kim's character even lends a hand in squashing in-school violence, giving a performance that has earned raves from nostalgic audiences longing for the "good ol' days" of high school. Also featuring performances by Gong Yoo (My Tutor Friend), Nam Sang-mi (Too Beautiful to Lie), and Park Sang-myeon (My Wife is a Gangster), She's On Duty is one film that goes straight to the head of the class! My Review

Tae, I love this movie. More of I adore this movie. This is so good. You should try this (if ever you haven't).

Wahahaha, if my favorite Japanese Actress is Ueno Juri, her counterpart in Korea is Kim Sun Ah (Kim Sam Soon). Oh my gulay, I love Sun Ah's personality and acting skills, she's so funny. :D First loved her on my lovely sam soon. And on this film she has made me laugh like hell. Way to go Sun Ah. :)

Gong Yoo. Sheez. Oh he's hot, I admit, he's irresistable. He and Sun Ah has great on screen chemistry (though I'm still a sun ah - hyun bin shipper). Though he looks young on this movie, but, but he's still GONG YOOOOOO!!!

I rate this a 10/10. There's definitely no boring part. Not more on the romance but more of an action movie, if you'd like to see some good kick ass movie, see this. And also you're in for a laugh trip. weeee, one of my favorite korean movie as of now. =)

My Review

For binnie my love, I've decided to watch this.

Best phrase to describe the story: TRAGIC, SAD.

I can't say much, hmmm during the first half I was kind of bored, about the next half it's more okay to watch though the ending's you-know-what. If you're a fan of this kind of story I think you ought to watch this.

Last word: LOVE could kill, kinda remind me of Heavenly Forest (jap. movie)

My Girl on ABS. (beware I don't like the remake)

If ever anyone would be offended by my post, I'm sorry but I'd just say my opinion.

I was just curious on how My Girl (Pinoy version) would turn out - that's why I decided to watch it. BUT as expected I was disappointed.

Reasons why I dont want to watch horror/suspense movies

I was about to head to my bedroom when my father told me too see a film that's been showing on a channel. He said it was gruesome, one look and I know it's Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've only watched one (TCM: the beginning) and what's currently showing is I think a different version.

Reasons why I don't want to watch a horror/suspense/thriller/murder movie.

1. I'm easily scared.

2. I may have nightmares, since I tend to overthink stuff before sleeping.

3. I'm easily shocked, and when I'm in it, I tend to scream. haha

4. I always get the feeling that I'm being watched by someone.

5. I lose my appetite.

6. Because when I try to watch one, no one wants to accompany me, so I end up watching it alone and all I do is to cover my eyes. :D

7. Most of the time, the actor that I find hot gets killed. hehe

8. It's gory, full of blood and who wants to see people dying in the hands of an ugly, scary monster?

There are still a lot more, but I'll stop here. I think I need to sleep.

note: I have tried to watch it(TCM) but decided not to. haha.

I can't believe I've only watched this now - when I've had a plenty of chance before. Blame it on my mindset that Vic and Barbie do not have that much of an appeal to me (I like them in Meteor Garden, but..).

Synopsis

Han Qi Luo (Barbie Xu),an extremely shy art student went to the same college as Chen Ling (Vic Zhou),a popular play boy. By chance one day they met at a park when CL asked HQL for direction to a hospital to visit his friend who was injured in a bike racing incident. Hurriedly HQL drew him a map, unknowing that she was drawing on the back of one of her sketches. She ran off before he could thank her. He then noticed the sketch of a mother holding a baby and was touched. In school HQL was sexually harrassed by a teacher and CL came to her rescue. They began to grow fond of each other but each of them had a secret past that needed to be addressed and overcome before they could accept and love one another freely. (credits to DramaWiki)

Review

Mars have aired on our local television about a year ago, while I've been a fan of Lei - Sanchai - Daomingsi, but when I've heard at that time that Vic and Barbie would star in Mars, I'd just ignored it. Maybe because then I can't believe that Vic can carry off a bad boy role as oppose to his goody side in MG. And also, the story of it didn't caught my attention at all.

Then, a few days ago, while I was thinking of a series to watch, I remembered this. I was only intending to watch the first two episodes, and if ever I do not like it - I'll stop.

Ahaha. But being the drama freak that I am, I'd found myself anticipating the next episode, and I knew that I'm loving the story. There's something in the flow of it that urges me to watch, and there is this feeling inside of me that Mars would turn out to be a great series.

And it did. I don't know why, but even though the series is composed of 21 episodes and given that the story isn't that broad (only focuses on the relationship between Ling and Qiluo, and some bit of their personal life), I never ever felt bored. I was even surprised that I've progressed much from watching, I haven't noticed the time.

Being able to felt that way only means one thing - this series is better than others (but I think My Lucky Star's better). The story's so moving and the scenes were touching. At last I have again found a great drama, it's really hard to find one like this these days, for the trend now is the lovey dovey, tweetums kind of plot (it gets boring actually).

When I've mentioned the thing about Zai Zai portraying a bad boy role, I'm completely mistaken, haha. Zai Zai has done a great job as Ling. Oh my, I'm having my Vic fever again. It's good to see that he was able to show the two sides of Ling.

About Barbie, I can't erase my Sanchai image of her, so for her role as Qi Luo, I felt different seeing her as a girl who's weak and afraid of boys. However, I think she's quite a remarkable actress, I've cried at parts when I've seen her suffering.

Mars has left me crying, it has really touched my heart. I was happy to be able to watch this, a great love story and a good casts as well.

Stand UP!!

Yamapi. Nino. Shun. and Narimiya

Shou - chan or Ken Ken? Do you need to ask me that? Ken Ken of course. :D

Synopsis

Four schoolboys find themselves the last virgins left at school. During the summer holidays, a girl they knew as children 11 years ago, moves back to the neighborhood. Despite their childhood attraction to her, they realize she is a mere shadow of the "princess" they all thought they knew. This story of summer - love, friendship, school, family, the hypocrisy of adults, complications of life, experience and failure is set in an everyday shopping district and shows the clumsiness of children who have developed a little later than their peers. It's a bright romantic comedy that both young and old can appreciate. --TBS

Review

Japan's version of American Pie. I don't know if that's the case since I haven't seen any American Pie movie (yeah, I'm such a goodie good girl that I abstain from watching shows with Adult Content).

Stand Up tackles issues that are common among teens now. The importance of virginity. For those four's case (refer to names above), it's rather how to lose their virginity - so that they can't be the scorn of their peers. In short it's all about sex.

What's funny is how the DB4 (doutei boys 4, doutei=virgin) cope up with their lack of experience. They have done all their might just to experience THAT. But obstacles always come their way. When you think they would finally reach home base, it'd turn out that it wouldn't.

About the characters.

You might think I'd be bias here, since I'm a Pi fan. Yeah I obviously love Yamapi in Stand Up! But putting aside my fan girl heart, I'd still choose Ken Ken (Pi). Ken Ken's the man. I love his character, he may be a pervert but he values love above all (he's serious, I super duper love that part of him), plus you get to see Yamapi's crazy side. Too bad he isn't the one..... (don't want to spoil you)

Next would be Shou-chan (Nino). After I've came to know Arashi, Nino was the one that I like the most (that time, I'd try to not choose MatsuJun since Jun's my fave). Though I like Nino but when it comes to him and Pi, Pi would be first. Okay, back to my review, I was so fond of Nino's character. He has this side to him where in he'd act so whacky and all that you'll also love his character. I guess I need to see more of his drama's to appreciate him more. :)

Suzuki Anne. She's one lucky girl. She isn't that pretty but she gets to act with those boys. Not only in Stand Up but also in Ganbatte Ikimasshoi (alongside Ryo, Uchi and Junno). I envy her, that's all. And let's not forget our Shun Shun, haha. Shun has a butt exposure here, lol. His character more of reminds me of Uchi in Gokusen. About Narimiya, I'm not into him, but he's also done well, however there are rumors that say he's like Gay.

What I like most about Stand Up is how the DB4 finally realize that losing their virginity is not all that matters, what matters most is losing IT before the one you love, and people should do it because of love. Sex can wait, there is always a right time for everything. Hooray for the Purity Reservation Club! ^^

Lastly I think this is a PG 13 drama (is it?). HAHA.

Ai Ai Gasa PV

Yey. !
The PV's here. I instantly love this song.
Sorry if this isn't HQ, I decided that I'd upload it on youtube, and I've just got it from there. :)

Anyway, TEGO!!!!!!!!!!!! waaa, tesshi's so cute, adorable, handsome, whatever the term is. Tego!!

David won!

wahahaha.

I'm on tears. Jeez. David Cook won! sorry for the spoiler (for those who haven't watch it yet)

I feel sorry for D.A, I wish he would have won too, but seeing those tears on Cook's face, makes me convince, he's the man. :D

I will sleep early tonight

I'll sleep early tonight (not the usual 1 am-ish) so that I'll be able to watch American Idol's finale tom. :D (it's around 8 am)

The first time AI started I'm definitely rooting for D. Archuleta, ever since I've seen him audition, I know he's the one.

But recently, I'm more into D. Cook, idk why, but I think D. Cook is more versatile than D. Archuleta, plus Cook's stage presence is the bomb.

But either way, whoever wins tom. I'd be happy.

This anime is all about music. Yeah. Though I'm not a fan of classical music, I've taken a gamble, this show kind of reminds me of nodame cantabile (since they're both about music).

Synopsis

Hino Kahoko is a second year student at a Seisou Academy, a school where the students are divided into two groups: those who wear the gray uniforms, the General Education students, and those who wear the cream colored blazers, who have chosen a musical instrument as their course of study. One day Lili, the mischievous musical fairy who had blessed the original founder of the school, finds Kahoko running late to class. Delighted that she is able to see him, Lili grants Kahoko a magical violin, and a place in the school's annual musical competition, which many students in the music department wish to partake in.

Kahoko refuses, only to be pressed on by the fairy, who constantly nags her until she finally gives way to his pleads. She reluctantly accepts the instrument.

As she practices her pieces, Kahoko is amazed that she can play any piece on the violin as long as she knows the tune. (credits to wikipedia)

Review

An anime that is full of beautiful people. To the extent that the boys are even prettier than the girls. LOL

A good thing about this is that it does not only center on the piano and violin (which is usually the case) but it also includes other instruments (cello, trumpet, flute, clarinet). In addition to that, one can get many information about classical music and its composers, though it may sound boring for non classical fanatics, but the information was conveyed through enjoyable presentation. And at the end, you may wonder, where can I get a copy of that piece?. However, I'm not saying that after watching this you'll be a fan of such music, you'll just learn to appreciate it. :D

I think this anime is unfair, why is it that Hino (female lead) gets all the boys? What I mean is, they're all after her, she's so lucky. And they're not just ordinary boys, they're all lovely. Therefore it's so difficult to choose whom she should end up with. BUT I'll stay put to my choice, it should be TSUKOMORI (blue haired guy) x HINO. :D My next fave would be Hihara (green haired guy) x Hino, then Yunoki (violet) x Hino, as for Ryou, I don't like him. hehe. And for Shimizu (blonde) I'd like to see him with Fuyuumi. :)

Lastly, at the end, you would not know who won on the concours, that's why I think you should read the manga. >=)

Waaa, I'm not here, the pics were taken from Aimee's birthday held last April. Almost all of my High School friends were present, except ME. I'm such a loser, I have things to attend to that day. T_T

Looking at this pic, makes me sad. I miss my friends and classmates. :( Hope another opportunity like this happens.

Thank you Aimee. :D

A boxer and a nun.

Hatanaka Kousuka (Kamenashi Kazuya) is a skilled boxer, however due to his uncontrollable attachment to food, he has faced a series of defeats. One day, while he was worn out by his exercises, he was found by Sister Angela (Kuroki Meisa). Thus, the story began, Hatanaka has been inlove with Sister Angela, but how will Sister Angela react, and above all she's a nun.

My Review

Though the story didn't turned out that superb, OPG has it's good points.

First, if you're a Kame fan, I'm sure you'll be delighted seeing him topless. haha.

Enough of that. LOL

Hmmm, the story mostly centered on boxing, and of course around Sister Angela. However at some point, the story gets tiring, I don't know if I'm the only one who have noticed. I think it's about the part where in Angela's thinking of which way to go (love or service), it would be better if there's a lot of boxing fights, more action! - to keep watchers interested.

Gladly, Kame's to the rescue. Kame's the one who gives life to the story, with him always screaming SISTER! plus he's madly inlove with Sister Angela, and he's so funny, WAHAHAHAHA. Now, I think I'm having my Kame's good syndrome again (I like him in gokusen).

Sister Angela's pretty but about her acting skills, it's so so.

And Yamada's here. lol, even if I don't like his character, but still.

Lastly, is Kame that hyper in real life???

Give me some dramas.

http://mirika02.wordpress.com
My new and improve wordpress account. YAY! I know I've posted this before, but I've reconstructed this site, hehe. I've imported my entertainment related posts in here (reviews, etc.), not yet done though.

Plus, I think I'll be posting my fan girl related things in this, haha. :D

Bokura Ga Ita

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other
"Ever since I met you, I feel like I've lived to meet you." - Yano

Since this anime has depressed me to death, I'll give my insight.

First thing's first.

Bokura Ga Ita is about high school love. A story about a popular boy (yano) who, despite of being famous among girls, is still grieving at the untimely death of his girlfriend - but is believing that her girlfriend is a cheat (still he loves her so much.) Things get complicated when he met Nana, though they have gotten into a relationship, he's still binded to the past. But as the story turns, he'll discover that he truly love Nana. (sorry for the poor synopsis)

My Review

Talk about a realistic anime.

I think Bokura Ga Ita fits more into the drama genre, the only difference is it's in an animated form.

Every scene is a perfect epitome of what love is - Teenage love to be exact. Though the animation isn't that good, but the storyline is perfect. The author clearly captures the events that happen in real life.

The characters are greatly woven. I expected Yano to be every girl's dream boy, but he has some flaws like any other humans do, and he's a pervy. wahaha. And as for Nana, she's your typical girlfriend material, but I really get annoyed at her sometimes.

The sad thing is its ending. But I guess that's life, not all things have a happy ending. And I think if ever this anime comes up with a season 2, I'll pass. Gyaaaa, I've wiki-ed the events that will happen next, and I don't want to be depressed again. Seriously, so much for being inlove, so so so much tragedy ahead.

I need to watch a lighter series soon. LOL

Bokura Ga Ita - and its effect on me (emo alert).

I'm still at episode 21 so I still couldn't come up with a review, I guess I'll finish it tomorrow.

But somehow, watching this anime is depressing. Especially watching it though I know that it will have a sad ending, and same as what is currently happening in the manga, it's so heart breaking.

Because of BGI - I kind of remember HIM. I can't believe I'm blogging about him at this instant, when I've already erased all the memories that we have shared together. Honestly I have moved on, but seeing Yano and Nana together, the love that they have for each other, I remember the "US" back then, but I don't have any regrets now, after all I'm happy the way I am now.

This is the first time that I'm opening up. It's almost 3 months since we've parted our ways. We stayed for almost 3 years. Arggghhh. By the way I'm all over him now, :D haha.

Sorry for being emo and all - blame it on the weather and on this anime. LOL

If you want a peek on what love is really like, watch Bokura Ga Ita, it's the most realistic anime that I've seen so far.

Love isn't forever, I used to believe that it can last for eternity - but I'm wrong. ooppss. haha. don't mind my blabbering, nyahahaha.

TV Shows + Enlistment + Anything = Rant + Thank You Berns!

Since I'm in the mood to post something, I'll let you in to what I'm thinking.

SCHOOL STUFF

Summer's almost ending (or is it?), it rains most of the time - which I am glad of, but then SCHOOL's gotta start soon (approx. 26 days from now). I don't know why I'm so nervous about school, unlike when I'm in High School that I highly anticipated the first day of class. Maybe I'm just scared of the subjects that I'll be taking, and the pressure that I got to give my all to be able to shift into my preferred course. And I'm still confuse if Engineering is meant for me. This just shows that I'll be dealing with lotsa pressures this school year, College life surely is hard.

ENLISTMENT

I've already pre-enlisted in my chosen subjects. Though I still lack a subject.

I've chosen : Env Sci 1, Creative Writing 10, Math 54 (it's required) and Physics 71, I still lack a GE Subject, can you please recommend me a good prof (pleeeeeaaaaasssssseeee)

And about my PE, I've mentioned that it's Duck Pin Bowling, but then I also included JUDO (an alternative in case I do not get accepted), haha. The thing is I don't know a single thing about it, and I doubt I'm that physically capable of doing it, there's still lots of PE out there but it involves dancing, swimming, and the like, oh there are lots of interesting PE (archery, skindiving, pilates, sports climbing etc) - but the "me" now, can't survive that. HAHAHAHA

But I'm looking forward to my CWTS - RAPPELLING, weee, though I'm a scaredy pants, I guess that would be exciting.

TV SHOWS

I'm watching:

LAST FRIENDS. ZETTAI KARESHI. GOKUSEN 3. ITAZURA NA KISS. VAMPIRE KNIGHT. BOKURA GA ITA (I'm currently watching it). KARE KANO. CHANGE (looking forward for the release of it, with subs)

Gokusen 3 - hmm, the plot seems like a fusion of Gokusen 1 and 2, but then seeing Yankumi brings me this nostalgic feeling. And Kuma's married. Now I'm wondering what Shin's doing, huhu, I wish that they would give a twist at the end featuring SAWADA! GYAAA, I miss him. :D and Hayato and Ryu too (akame!). With regards to Yankumi's new students, I don't find them that attractive at all.

Last Friends - Every minute that I'm watching it, my fear of Sousuke increases. He's worse than a stalker. But Ryo's hot though. :D

PHILIPPINE TELEVISION

They Kiss Again - why, oh why are they airing this in JUNE???? By that time, I'll be staying in a dorm (hopefully) which means that I'll be TELEVISION DEPRIVED for almost 10 months. That isn't fair. I just can't find the time to DL TKA since the subbing team is I think on episode 6. NOOO!

GMA - and now I think GMA is totally taking their JDRAMAS line-up out. They're starting again with their Koreanovela shows. Honestly I still can't forgive them for doing THAT to Hana Kimi Japan, though I am still loyal to their network, but doing such a thing to HKJ is so under the belt - HKJ is one great series. Instead they're putting their Jdramas on QTV. Life's so unfair, that's why I ain't watching Television now.

LASTLY

I would like to thank bernina for doing the layout for the Yamashita Tomohisa Fan Group. Though it isn't finished yet, but thanks a lot. She's currently on vacation (will be gone for about 2 weeks, and I think it's abroad). Berns ang yaman mo talaga. wahaha. Salamat ng malaki. :D Next time you should do my layout, just joking. :))

Kimutaku Round Four

First was a pilot, second, a prosecutor, a chef, hockey star player and now a car racer. :D

Synopsis

Jiro Kanzaki is an F3000 test driver blessed with acute sensitivity and breathtaking driving techniques. He's a daredevil who feels no fear driving at speeds that even top racers dare not attempt. But unexpected trouble forces this world-famous racer to leave his team and return to Japan for the first time in years. Until he finds a new job as a racer, Jiro decides to stay with his parents. What awaits Jiro there is his hardheaded father, his nagging sister, the 12 children of the foster home his father runs, a snobbish male nurse, and a stubborn female nurse who likes to daydream about her life.

Jiro's return home brings a breath of fresh air that influences the people around him. However, he is still unaware that he too will eventually be influenced to change the way he thinks and lives. -- Fuji TV

My Review

A very heart warming drama. I can't help but cry at some point.

If before, what I see in a KimuTaku series is TK himself, in Engine, it isn't he alone. What's great in this is that all the characters have made a significant part in the drama. Engine isn't about KimuTaku and a girl falling inlove (well I thought it may be that). It focuses more on the children of the orphanage. And you know what those kids were so adorable and cute.

I thought it would be boring, given that the story might tackle issues about the kids, but it turned out the other way around. I was inspired and touched by the kids, and it's nice to see TK as Jiro, he looks cute facing the kids, it's as if he is a kid himself.

And though the ending didn't turn out the way that I hoped it would be (the racing part), I can say that Jiro's (TK) effort to hold on to his dream is admirable. A great watch for the family, if you're in for the types of children affecting the lives of the adult, you should see this. :D and by the way Juri's in here. haha

Enlistment, HELP! Can You Recommend any Profs/Subjects? (For UPD students)

I'm in ruins. lol. Oh my, I can't decide what subjects to take for next semester, as of now I've only Duck Pin Bowling in my list (and I have a 30 % chance of being accepted).

Guys, can you recommend any profs/subjects worth taking? and that I can be assured of good grades? (Of course with proper studying)

I'm considering these subjects:

GE:

Env. Sci 1

Pan. Pil - any kind would do

Archeology 1 - is this good?

And also for those who has taken Physics 71, could you recommend a reasonable Prof.?

I really need to do well this semester so that I could be able to shift to another course.

and lastly I have a question about CWTS, can I take a CWTS not intended for my course?

Thanks a lot.

Vampire Knight - i'm addicted to it.

I love vampires. Hmm, ever since I've known Edward Cullen (Twilight), I've found that vampires are amazing.

It was just an hour ago that I've discovered Vampire Knight, I was reading the latest chapter of Ouran on onemanga, when I've decided that I should check out the most viewed manga, well I wasn't surprised to see Naruto and Bleach on top, but then Vampire Knight caught my attention (I guess it's on the # 4 spot??).

Vampires = Edward Cullen = I love Edward = Twilight = Vampires

I wiki-ed it. And I've instantly loved it, here's the synopsis.

The best thing about it? An anime version is currently airing in Japan.

The sad thing? Crunchyroll clearly hates me that much 'coz I can't watch it now.

My solution: I'm reading the manga.

So I think I'd temporarily stop watching Takuya Kimura's engine and I'll finish Vampire Knight first.

My observation:

Kaname's like Edward.

Zero's like Jacob, though he's to become one of them.

Even though I personally find Zero more attractive than Kaname, I'd still stick to Kaname since he's like Edward - only an anime this time.

Pride

First was a pilot, then a prosecutor, a chef, and now a hockey star player.

KimuTaku Round Three.

Now I know I'm addicted to Takuya Kimura, I can't get enough of him, and his jdramas. This is serious.

Synopsis

Pride revolves around the ice rink. It mainly centers on the sport Ice Hockey, and of course that means Satonaka Halu (Takuya Kimura). Halu's the captain of his hockey team, and one would say that he's a very dedicated player. He believes that nothing is more important than this sport, even love. He isn't serious on finding true love because for him it would only destroy his concentration. He treats love as if it was a game.

Meanwhile, Aki (Takeuchi Yuko) is an ordinary office lady who's waiting for her long time boyfriend abroad to come back, though she knows that the chances are small, she still has her hopes up. One evening, as Halu's team is celebrating for their victory, he and Aki's path has crossed, after exchanging their email address, the two has met up again, from here they agreed to a contract, that for the meantime they will become "lovers" (not the way you are thinking, more of a companion) with no strings attached (since Halu's not onto real love, and Aki's waiting for her boyfriend).

Given the odds, will this two fall in love with each other? Will Halu realize that hockey isn't everything, will he be able to give up his pride? And what will happen if Aki's boyfriend shows up?

The answer: Maybe

My Review

I've been looking forward to watching this, and you could just imagine my temper when crunchyroll has been malfunctioning, so I've downloaded the series (that just came out of nowhere).

Seeing TK in this role is a bit weird, maybe I've gotten used to his villainous role in AMSFFTS, that I've found Halu not that interesting (for just some time only). At first I haven't found anything superb in Halu's personality, but then I guess by watching all the episodes, I've learned that Halu's okay, his character was well developed. At first you can see him as this guy who is not serious about everything, and is cold blooded but as soon as he met Aki, he started to change, hmm that may sound cliche(playboy star player falling for an ordinary and simple girl), but if Takuya's the one acting it, I guess he can pull it off, give any role to TK and I know he'll be brilliant. That's how great his acting skills are.

The story's okay, the events are somehow predictable, but what interest me is on how the main leads will carry their roles. Gladly, I'm not disappointed. And good thing it doesn't only centered on love, there's hockey. Okay, the hockey parts were interesting, seeing those people play looks exciting. And I'm somehow affected by their determination, this is one of the benefits from watching shows like this, it gives you motivation. :D

What I most like about Pride is its ending. I love everything about the ending. And the part about the "Ice Goddess", very nice, so you could only see her if you've truly love someone and at the same time is devoted to hockey. Sorry for the spoiler, haha, but see love and sport can coexist. Again back to the ending, I was terribly screaming my heart out at that. GYAAA, that was so sweeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttt.

Pride is a nice drama. :D Plus it includes very good songs, full of Queen's music. haha, kinda old but it suits the mood. Rating: 8.75/10 (over all), ending: 10/10

A Million Stars Falling From The Sky

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other
KimuTaku Round Two.

Man, there's something about a KimuTaku series that I can't resist.

Synopsis

The story opens after a young female student kills herself by jumping off a balcony. It's soon discovered that she was in fact stabbed, and the room arranged to make it look like a suicide. And so we begin. A few minor details lead Detective Kanzo (Akashiya Sanma) to suspect that Ryo (Kimura Takuya), an enigmatic chef's assistant, knows more about her death. The two have run into each other by chance a few times, and each time left Kanzo with an uncomfortable feeling. Every clue that is revealed seems to lead to more questions about Ryo, his obsessive girlfriend, his callous and manipulative relations with several women, and about a painful memory from Kanzo's past. Things get more complicated when a powerful love/hate relationship develops between Ryo and Kanza's little sister, the beautiful Yuko (Fukatsu Eri). What exactly is their connection? As the evidence (and body count) rises, Kanza tries desperately to save his sister from Ryo's influence. He's no saint, but is he the Devil Kanza thinks he is? And why? The answers will floor you, even when you think you've got them figured out already. (credits: Drama Wiki)

My Review

This is better than Hero - in my opinion.

The first few episodes of AMSFFTS were quite uneventful. HMM, slow paced, and somehow boring. If not for TK, I would have considered putting this behind and start another series.

However, though boring it maybe there's still this curiosity that surrounds the early episodes. Curiosity that will lead you to move on another notch. For each episodes leave you hanging, it yearns someone to dwell deeper into the mystery that lies ahead. And yeah mystery it is, by the end of it you'll earn twist that changes your view of things, it even surpass the early events that happened.

Though I've only watched three TK dramas, I would say that this is a new dimension for him, TK as Ryo is totally different from your average ideal man. His personality is so myterious that you could actually think that he's plotting something dark. You can't tell if he's good or bad, that's maybe one of the things that has drawn me to watch this. I want to see Ryo change. Too bad that it was only at the end.

The plot has gotten interesting halfway, there are so many things to look forward to and are wanting to be discovered. I wouldn't elaborate much, don't wanna spoil you. hehe

Lastly, the ending's so sad. :(

Hero + SP + MOVIE + TK

Rating:★★★
Category:Other
Series - 7/10
SP - 8/10
Movie - 9/10
TK - 11/10

Synopsis

Kohei Kuryu is a former juvenile delinquent who drops out of junior high and goes on to earn a high school equivalency diploma. After passing the law board exams, Kuryu becomes a prosecutor. Not your typical prosecutor, which is quickly seen through the clothes that he wears, Kuryu possesses quick instincts and a kind of cleverness that only someone raised on the streets could have.

Maiko Amamiya is a shrewd public prosecutor who has her eyes set on passing the exam to become a deputy prosecutor and tries her best to be noticed by her boss. Kuryu, on the other hand, after earning a reputation for doing top-notch work, is transferred to Amamiya's division, and finally opens his eyes to the possibility of promotion. Unfortunately, his unprecedented work behavior abruptly brings things to a halt.

Although earning a reputation as a bad apple, the influence from Kuryu's strong pursuit of justice slowly begins to change things around him. This drama is filled with it all; love, laughs and lots of emotion. -- Fuji TV

My Review

Series:

Honestly, I'm a little bored at the way things are going, it has a great storyline, yes, but I guess I'm not that into the world of prosecutors, and one of the best factor on why I'm somewhat bored is the video quality that I've watched, this series is kinda old (aired at 2001), so it's difficult to find a HQ version. But Takuya Kimura as Kuryu Kohei rocks. I mean KimuTaku is a great actor, I now believe. :D No wonder those series of him always get high ratings.

SP:

The SP's better than the series, hmm, it's perhaps the quality (haha, yet again). I've enjoyed this more than the former, but I somehow miss Kuryu's former colleagues.

Movie:

Now, this is different. Though there are still some not so good parts but I totally liked the movie. Hmmm, great story line and it's interesting, you get to feel the "drama" aura again. And finally, there's a development with Amamiya and Kuryu, yay!

TK:

This is my second attempt at a KimuTaku drama, first was Goodluck which aired on GMA (but due to some unknown reasons, there has been a lot of cuts).

I can still remember the commercial for GL, they are saying stuff like KimuTaku's the hottest and most popular idol in Japan. At that time, I totally disagree, I don't even find him handsome.

But after watching Hero, OMG, I can definitely say that KimuTaku's the hottest and best guy ever (even hotter than Ryo chan and Pi). Mind you, I've only seen 2 dramas of his. However since he's married and he's 35, I'd consider him as an idol, wow, KimuTaku rocks!

With regards to his role in Hero, Kuryu's so funny, especially that TV Shopping Madness of him. And it's nice to see a new style to prosecutors. wee.

From now on, I think I'll be marathoning Kimutaku's dramas.

Ganbatte Ikimasshoi

Rating:★★★★
Category:Other
I was one of those who have watch this because of Ryo (guilty). But after watching it, I've found out that beside the fact that Ryo chan's here, the story is good and touching.

Synopsis

A story about Etsuko Shinomura (Suzuki Anne) and her desire to start a girl's crew team at her school. However, she's faced with many problems, e.g. there aren't someone who seem interested in rowing, she isn't that good in rowing, and the like.

However, with the help of her family, friends, coach, and the rest of the boys rowing team, she was able to make her dream possible. A story about friendship, sports, perseverance and determination. :D

My Review

Again, blame RYO.

My first impression of this is that it's boring. IT LOOKS BORING, because it's old, and the girl isn't that pretty. If Ryo isn't here, I wouldn't care to watch.

Impressions after watching: Though there are parts which are boring, this drama's not bad. IT'S GOOD. I was touched, I cried, and it made my heart race. This is so inspiring. And the way those girls row, makes me wanna row too. Seriously I think I want to be in a crew team. Too bad I can't swim. LOL

One can pick up many lessons in it, most notable would be "you should never give up", failure is part of everything, losing doesn't mean you should stop, infact losing is just the start of everything. And never runaway from something.

-------------- ABOUT THE BOYS (for fan girls only) --------------

I was torn. I like Ryo. But with Uchi and Junno also present, waaa, major hottie overload. It's not about them as a person but the roles they are acting.

I love Nakata Saburo's character. But I love it when Uchi's the one portraying the role. I also like Junno (i think I maybe a fan girl of his), but there is seriously a difference between Uchi and Junno's acting. Uchi as Saburo is more of the silent, mysterious, and genius type, while Junno's Saburo is more of the outgoing, playboy one. I like the former Saburo, I was always thinking, how would it look like if Uchi's the one acting. I think it would have been more cool. And Uchi's gorgeous, hwaaaaaaaaaa.... Junno's handsome as well but I can't take my Yukan Club's image of him. hehe

-------------- f-a-n g-i-r-l-i-n-g s-t-o-p-s h-e-r-e --------------

Enough of the fan girling. Hmmm, I must say putting the boys aside, this is a nice series. But I think it's different for some people. Since I'm into the sporty series, I think this is good. It all depends on your interest. This is a good source for inspiration. :D An 8/10.

Last Friends Opening Theme

at dahil naadik na ko sa panonood nito, ipopost ko na ang opening theme.
Credits to jamapi for the link. :D

pinakagusto kong part yung 1:38, astig ni ryo. wahaha

Scary, scary Sousuke

I've decided to watch Last Friends' episodes 1-3.

Demo....

Sousuke's too scary. When I've first scan episode one from before, I could really tolerate him doing "that kind" of thing. But as I've finished the 3rd episode, I couldn't.

Everytime that I see Sousuke, I feel scared. Whenever he's standing outside waiting for Michiru, I'm scared. Whenever Michiru's on screen, I am terrified, it's as if Sousuke will arrive anytime. Damn, Sousuke's everywhere. I couldn't blame Ryo-chan for acting that role, but I really hate/am scared of Sousuke. It's as if I don't want to see his face.

As each episode starts, I can feel tears in my eyes, especially during the opening credits, I could feel the gravity of the story. And I think most of the tears can be attributed to Ruka. I Love Ueno Juri, she's a girl but I love her (not the bad way). Juri's so versatile. Ruka's so moving as a character, she's my fave. Even though she's Nodame in my eyes, but in Last Friends, she totally made me forget it. Ruka's amazing. :D

Anyway, back to Sousuke. Why would GUYS like him exist? It's over the top. And Michiru, please stop being a fool for love. OPEN YOUR EYES.

Kainis na pag ibig yan, bwisit. Tamang tama nga na prisoner of love ang song. haha.

"Please enjoy the fright." LOL

Synopsis

Misaki Yoko (Aya Ueto) is what one would call a boyish kind of girl, she enjoys the company of boys more than girls. However, when Tsukasa commented that how will Misaki looked in a cabin attendant uniform, that ignited her dream to be a flight attendant (and also to show off to Tsukasa).

Here's a story about the struggles of Misaki being a flight attendant. The things that she have to undergone to be able to fly into the air (sorry for the wrong grammar, lol).

My Review

It's all because of Ryo-chan. Blame him, hehe, I've watched this because of him, though he doesn't have that much exposure.

The first few episodes were kind of boring, I was thinking to just stop watching this, but then come episodes 4 +, the story's getting exciting. I was hooked (Ryo's charm), but more to that, Aya Ueto's so funny. HAHA. Her acting is so kakoii. I was always laughing when seeing her crazy side. Though sometimes her character pisses me off.

If ever you're aspiring to be a flight attendant, this is a must see. Even I myself wants to be one (after watching this). Good thing I wasn't disappointed with this, haha. But how I wish there would be more Ryo-ness in this. Plus I want to see Shouta (Ryo) x Misaki together. The SP's also great (Hawaii!!!). :D Hope the 2nd SP gets subbed already. weee

credits to NEWShFAN for the vid and subtitles. :D

Can't help to post this, haha, this was so interesting. Yamapi and Ryo are so funny, no one wanting to lose to the other.

And when Massu put the rope around his body, that was hilarious. And also the Ten Seconds challenge, the look on Ryo-chan's face when he lose and when he told "those" lines.

On Being a NewS fan, etc.

Being a new fan is hard *sighs*. NewS debuted back in 2003. And I've been a fan for less than a month. (Date check: It's 2008, dear)

And so, I asked myself "What have I been doing for the last 5 years?"

THE CONSEQUENCE: I've a lot of catching up to do.

For the past few days, I've been lurking news' community @ lj. Since there are tons of posts, and that I want to learn lots of infos, I've started reading from the first entry (which is on the year 2004). As of the moment I'm on the year 2006 (Feb.), 2 more years worth of reading. It's tiring, yes, but entertaining as well.
From their community, one can learn a lot, even the extremes (ranging from their crotches, tego's peen, and the like, lol). Click here

Another part is their performances, phewww, being in the industry for the past five years is hard. I've been dl-ing NewS related stuff crazily. Ranging from their music, pictures, PV's, concerts, special, guest appearances, performances, shows, dramas, and everything. WAAAAA, it's driving me insane, and the thing is my connection's not that good, so I've only had a few. AND I think my computer's gonna crash. HAHA, NewS has been occupying most of my HD space.

The sad thing though, my Japanese is so so so limited, I only know a few words. So I've been memorizing their songs, yeah, it's nerve wracking. haha. SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM: I've been trying to learn their writing (only know hiragana, and half of katakana by now), and I'm trying to learn their language. But only by myself, since enrolling in a jap. class costs money. And I don't have money. wahahaha

Okay, since I've mentioned "money", it's really a problem. 'coz being a NewS fan, no "JE" fan (in general) costs a lot. JE boys can make a fan girl poor. hehe. That's one thing I've learned from forums. Jap. Magazines, albums, etc, aren't available in my country, so others order online, and I think a single Mag costs P 1000 + . The current "me" can't buy those, huhu, I'm so poor, *cries hard*, maybe I'll buy one during christmas, haha. I'll definitely buy those stuff once I've graduated from college. (looks to the future)

                  MY CURRENT NewS RANKING:

                  1. Yamapi and Ryo (OMG, I can't choose, I think I'm more into Ryo now)

                  2. Tego (waa, I also like Tego, he comes close to RyoPi, I even want to put him onto the # 1 spot)

                  3. Massu (wee, love his smile)

                  4. Shige and Uchi

                  5. Kei chan and Kusano. wahehehe

(The last time that I've been a fan girl of a boy band was in 2005 I think, and it's with F4, yeah, even up to now, I still know their songs, and I've a lot of F4 stuff at home, and I've almost been a fan of arashi, hehe, just felt mentioning it)

After much deliberation, I've finally decided. I'm going to choose Ryo chan over Yamapi. Para kasing mas matimbang na si Ryo sakin ngayon, though mahal ko pa din si Pi. :D So It's official, I'm a Ryo fan girl na. LOL >:)

I should give this a four and a half stars, but seeing that there is none, i'll stick with four stars.

Synopsis

A bunch of overly rich high schoolers, who are obviously bored to death - that is the Yukan Club. Wahehe. Seriously, they are so rich, and to let time pass by, they pry into other people's affair, in a way helping them. Somewhat similar to what detectives do. hehe

Miroku (Akanishi Jin) is the son of a police commisioner and is interested in machines. Seishiro (Yokoyama Yu) is the son of a large hospital owner, and is the "smartest" among them. Bidou (Taguchi Junnosuke) is the son of a Swedish ambassador and is a playboy.

Yuri (Minami) is the daughter of a financial tycoon and is a glutton. Noriko (Kashii Yu) is the daughter of a famous japanese painter but she suffers from androphobia. Lastly, Karen (Suzuki Emi) is the daughter of a jewel dealer, she dreams to marry a rich guy someday.

My Review

If I were as rich as them, I would just jetset around the world.

When I've first watch the pilot episode, the plot isn't that good, it's sort of boring, but as each episode goes on, the story gets more exciting. What even add up to that is the characters themselves. In Yukan Club, it presents six individuals with different personality. Each has his/her unique traits, and as each episodes unfolds, one can admire a character.

My most favorite is Yuri. I'm so fond of her, she's so voracious, and a brat. And I think she's the richest of them all, but she doesn't act like one. HAHA. Seishiro's cool as well, he's smart and he's a brilliant fighter, he nearly winned my heart with those moves of his. Bidou's cool as well, haha, he being so vain is a laugh, haha, so much for pretty boys, ne?

Save the best for last, wee, so I like Yuri but I also like Miroku, I'd be glad as hell if Miroku x Yuri develops a feeling for each other. Back to the topic, this is the first time that I've seen Jin in a new light. I find him hot. HAHA. I was impressed by his fluency in English, dang he's even better than me in speaking engrish, haha.

Ok, this show is dominated by JE boys, wow. And Mike He's a guest. weee, I couldn't ask for more, and Mike can speak Nihonggo, how awesome is that?

Lastly, this series is entertaining, and it somehow scared me, haha, I'm such a weakling with scary stories (there's a scary episode). And Miroku's a crybaby. mwahahaha
